Tim Colborne
Transitional Pastor

Tim served Broadmoor Baptist Church as Senior Pastor from 1986 to 1999. He is married to Lois and they have three grown, married daughters, Roslyn, Jessica and Bethany, all of whom are married and producing grandchildren in abundance! Originally from Alberta and raised in the Roman Catholic Church, Tim draws his understanding and practice of his faith from a broad spectrum of Christian traditions. Over the last thirty years Tim has served the CBWC as the pastor of four churches, Director of The Ascent Leadership Program and assistant professor at Carey Theological Seminary. As well, he as has led several spiritual retreats and taught seminars on Spiritual Formation and on Social Justice. He earned his Master of Divinity from Winnipeg Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry (in spiritual formation) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston MA.

Tim's hobby is cooking (well, his hobby is eating and he supports it with cooking). His interests are running, reading and writing (his version of the 3 Rs). Tim is delighted to be back at Broadmoor Baptist as Transitional Pastor.

Marilyn Chan
Pastor of Spiritual Formation and Worship

Marilyn was born and raised in Toronto (please don't hold that against her)! She married her college sweetheart, Rob, in 1996 and they have two beautiful daughters: Jessie and Katie. She and her family moved to Richmond in January 2005 after accepting the call to come as Broadmoor's Associate Pastor of Spiritual Formation and Worship. It has been a joy and a privilege to join with this congregation as we walk together on this amazing journey of faith we call Christianity.

Three of Marilyn's primary interests are music, reading and hockey. Music speaks to her heart, reading stimulates her mind, and hockey....well, hockey is simply the greatest sport on the face of this planet! (And we won't mention which team Marilyn cheers for)!

Her greatest delight and privilege in ministry is to simply walk alongside the people she encounters, and to share in their journey of faith. She hopes that people will find Broadmoor to be a place where they encounter God and are transformed by the real and tangible expressions of God at work in our midst.

David Wang
Pastor of Chinese Ministry

David grew up in Qingdao, Mainland China. He worked as an IT engineer for 5 years before he became a Christian. He received his theological education from Carey Theological College and received his Master of Pastoral Ministry degree. David married his wife, Marie, in 2010.

David is passionate about life. He believes that this passion is very important for his ministry. Our faith is connected with our daily lives. God walks among us through the work of Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit in our daily lives. David focuses his ministry on the connection between faith and life.

Valerie Reynolds
Children's Ministry Coordinator

Valerie is a long time member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, having been raised in Richmond. She is married to Peter (yes, the Office Administrator) and they have three children ages 13, 10 and 9. After many years of administrative work, Valerie took a new direction by going back to school in 2010 to be certified as an Education Assistant, and she currently holds a part-time position in the Richmond School District.

Leanne Chew
Youth Coordinator

Leanne has been attending Broadmoor since 2002 and has been a Richmond resident all of her life. She first got involved in the ministry of Sonshine Day Camp in 2008 as a part of the director team for 3 summers. Under the leadership of Myron Sinnen (former Youth Pastor) she was called to be a leader with the Youth Ministry in 2009. Leanne took on the role of Youth Coordinator after graduating from UBC last year with her B.Sc. in Honours Physiology. She has felt very privileged to have gotten the chance to work with so many amazing leaders and walk with teens as they come to know Christ. Leanne loves to spend her free time (when she gets any!) playing music, practicing yoga, reading and doing creative writing, and hopes for a future career in the health care field.

Peter Reynolds
Office Administrator

Peter was born in the Maritimes, but raised in Vancouver, so he is really a west coast boy at heart. He is married to Valerie and has three kids – Cameron, Thomas and Elizabeth.

He has been at Broadmoor Baptist Church for over 17 years and has served the church in many roles. He has found Broadmoor to be a great place to be on his spiritual journey.

His interests and hobbies include reading, music, and as much Canucks and baseball as he can fit into a very full life.
